FAO CAA Yr 2: Perspectives: Final Lecture / Monday 3rd December @ 2pm L1

Just a note to say I'm switching your final 'How-To' lecture to Monday December 3rd @ 2pm in Lecture Theatre 1 .  There's no film screening in this final session - just a wrapping up of everything we've looked at, followed by lots of practical advice regarding structuring the assignment. Apologies for the switching around - just responding to events as they happen.  If you could make a note on your timetables and also get the word out to ensure your classmates are aware in advance. Many thanks!

FAO CAA Yr 2: Postmodernism Essay Hand-in / A Change Of Date!

A message for our hard-working second years...  For reasons rather too complex to explain (but largely involving your course leader's inability to count!), I'm moving your Perspectives Postmodernism hand-in deadline to... Monday January 7th, 2019!   I'll explain more when I see you tomorrow for your lecture @ 2pm - but no, this isn't a dream, this is really happening! Postmodernism Essay Hand-in Monday January 7th, 2019 12 noon - 1pm @ Campus Registry In terms of your essay structures and support, I will of course be available via email during the Christmas holidays, so worry not.  See you tomorrow - and try and keep your spontaneous exclamations of joy at an acceptable volume!

FAO CAA Yr 2 / Perspectives / Tutorials Group A / Timetable Change

This is a message for those Year 2 students who are scheduled to have individual Perspective tutorials with me on Monday 5th March;  I'm off to Lyon, France, for another live screening of Red & The Kingdom Of Sound on Saturday 3rd March and I'm now scheduled to return on the Monday, not the Sunday.  This means I won't be where you need me to be for your individual tutorials - apologies! - so I'm going to suggest we re-schedule your tutorials for Friday 9th March - see below for your respective time-slots.  If this causes any of you an issue, let me know and we'll sort something. Jen @ 9.30 Jess @ 9.50  Laura @ 10.10  Michael @ 10.30  Ruth @ 10.50  Michaela @ 11.10 Alex C @ 11.30 Rhia @ 11.50 Graeme @ 12.10 Noah @ 12.30  Polly @ 12.50

FAO CAA Yr 2: Perspectives: Example OGR (For Andrew's Feedback)

Just a reminder to complete your 'Cone Of Cogency' and upload a suitably high-res & readable image of your Thesis plan to your blog.  I'll leave feedback over the course of the week.  Add an  @Phil to your post and I'll try not to miss anyone. Here's a reminder too of the structure for next Monday's OGR.  You need to have your Thesis presentation on your blog by 5pm on Monday 19th.  I'll then send the urls to Andrew and he'll leave feedback over the course of that week.  Also included here for your reference is Dee's OGR presentation from this time last year.  Note the Research Proforma entries at the end (well in excess of 6 entries and you should be seeking to be similarly ambitious) and bibliography.  Remember, you're producing these presentations for someone else - so please ensure your spelling, grammar, and formatting are all suitably professionalised and really importantly, you've actually given this exercise the...

FAO CAA Yr 2: Perspectives / Proof Of Concept Presentations

As promised, a reminder as to what you need to prepare for your Thesis Proposal proof of concept presentations and an example presentation for your guidance.  Any questions, just drop me a line.

FAO CAA Yr 2: Perspectives / Example 'Courtroom Drama' Presentation

For your reference - a presentation from one of last year's legal teams who were given the job of defending violent entertainment.  There is no strict template here - except for the guidelines already given here - but your job is to use reputable evidence to build a persuasive argument by which you can make your case to the jury; establishing the most effective way to do that is the goal of this exercise.  Think of your presentation as a logically sequenced progression that enables you to argue your case effectively.  As said at the briefing, you don't all need to present if it would be better for your argument if you don't.  That said, you're all responsible for building your case, so no free-loaders - establish your strategy, undertake your research and knock 'em dead!
