All this talk of the campy 'so bad it's good' delights of Troll 2 has made me nostalgic for a time when films came on chunky VHS tapes and were played on even chunkier VCRs, and spotty teens of a certain age gathered at each other's houses to sit in the curtained dark to watch horror movies rented from corner shops, whose proprietors turned a blind-eye to the certificates on the box. Oh, happy days. So, acting on an impulse, which can only be described as self-indulgent and hopelessly nostalgic, I feel the need to share with you over the coming weeks some of those guilty celluloid pleasures - bonkers confections of bargain-basement animatronics and terrible haircuts that always disappointed (because how could they ever live up to the lurid delights of their video case artwork?), but sometimes left you slack-jawed with astonishment at their surrealism/stupidity/down-right nastiness...
