On a very hot and sultry July evening, something a little bit special happened.  The place was Grays Civic Hall, Essex and the event was a programme of music in which 'Jazz met the Classics' - "an outstanding evening of jazz and classical music made possible by the unique partnership of the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne, Royal Opera House, Thurrock International Celebration of Culture, Thurrock Music Services" - and CG Arts & Animation at UCA Rochester.* Our involvement in Friday's joyous celebration of rhythm and musical cross-pollination began all the way back in March, when a ground-breaking collaboration was launched in Lecture Theatre 2 . The students, staff & alumni of  Ba Hons CG Arts & Animation  have been  commissioned  to produce an original sixteen minute animation to accompany a live performance of classical music by the  Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne  on July 12th, 2013. In response to ten extracts from the piece of music to be performed by the  Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne , the CGAA community is creating  synesthetic  'speed paintings' from which the commissioned animation will originate.  You can listen to extract number ten below.  The collection of paintings that follow were envisioned by the CGAA community in response to this extract over the course of one day.  CGAA/ACT Live Commission Speed Paintings 15/03/2013 - Collection 10  Collection 10 - addendum Bharathi Anthonysamy Jordan Buckner
