Friday May 31st - The CGAA Super Screening & End Of Term Drinkies?

Dear all - right now, thoughts of the end of term must dance tantalisingly just out of reach, but this post is seeking to gauge your interest in the course organising a 'Super Screening' of all your final project work on Friday May 31st.  Put simply, it would be a celebration of all years' work on a single day, followed by a Summer-send off in a sunny pub garden somewhere.  It's an opportunity to bring the whole course together, to celebrate your many achievements, and say 'au revoir'... Let me know if this is indeed 'a plan' and I'll set some wheels in motion...

Trailers: Get Your Geek On!

For when you need a break from all that Maya business... get your geek on with this selection of blockbusters-in-the-offing!

@Alan: Camera Troubles

I'm using the camera rig you designed, minus the diagonals and thirds planes, but when I try to look through the camera, all it can see are three of the spheres in the scene and nothing else. What the scene looks like; outer membrane obnoxiously pink for ease of visualisation. What the camera sees. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. - Meg L

@Alan: Need help with flexible spine control

I've been working on this set of controls that would help me to get flexible spine controls by using nurbs primitives plane as a base with nhair folicles attached to the joints. I have clusters on the edges and in the centre controling twist and streach. It seems that something went wrong when I wanted to constrain folicles streach with CV curves on the edges. It works fine when I twist it, but it starts glitching out when I streach it. Is there any way to figure out why is this happening? I haven't tried redoing it yet, but maybe it is nothing major after all.

Reminder - Saturday Night Fever - Tuesday 23rd April - 5:00pm

The Supplement: Victorian Headless Portraits

We all know the Victorians did some peculiar things with portrait photography in it’s infancy ( post-mortem and spirit photography, anyone?). Continuing the Victorian photographic fascination with death,  I stumbled upon another interesting  genre of the era – headless photography. Though playful and no doubt hilarious to everyone way back then, I can’t help but think it’s just a tiny bit macabre...

Disco Inferno – Now on Tuesday Evenings.

As previously mentioned I won’t be able to continue to do screenings on Thursday night in Lecture Theatre One. Instead, the final screenings will move to Tuesday evenings. Same time and place, but a different day! Luckily I didn’t call the series ‘Thursday Night Fever’ as originally planned, otherwise it’d all be very confusing. Reminders will be up closer to the date. See you there!  Saturday Night Fever Tuesday 23rd April Can't Stop the Music Tuesday 30th April Lecture Theatre One 5:00pm til 7:00pm
