  1. I was one of the sorry saps that went to see the first one. What ever happened to 'With great power comes great responsability' ? When did Spider-Man become such a cry baby and why oh why In every superhero movie of late all about destruction? What every happened to good old storytelling and plot of good overcoming evil without the need to destroy a city? Super Man or now known as Man of Rust, so rusty he lets how many people die? Spider man or better called the amazing fail in spandex. How many people die in these movies due to these so called superheroes having the fist fight in the middle of a well populated area? Kind of anti productive isnt it ? Why can't they be more like Iron Man or Thor and have their fights in the own homes or in the middle of nowhere?

  3. I saw it. In a way it was slightly better than the early 2000's versions, a little closer to the comic book story in fact. Although, it was completely unnecessary....or was it? If you take in to consideration that Sony would have lost the rights back to Marvel if they hadn't made a film when they did things become a little clearer - A film made to achieve a financial rights based goal.

  5. First film was dire. It did the standard modern origin film thing where there's about 2 hours of uninteresting exposition (which we already know about anyway) until the mildly interesting things happen. This will probably slightly better if only because we don't have to find out how Peter Parker became Spiderman for the billionth time.

  6. I hate the Amazing Spider Man. Absolutely no depth to the character but I spose after everyone and their mother seing the initial (BETTER) 3 films with Toby Maguire, why bother adding depth? Alan is right these films were not made to continue tradition of a classic fable they were made because Sony are obligated to make a Spiderman film every few years. If they don't they lose the right to the brand which I wish they would do. I'm one of those people who thinks the Avengers assemble needs to include Spiderman and Wolverine as the original avengers... Of course this would have been possible if so many film companies didn't own individual rights to characters.

With that being said I will not be considering watching this spiderman... I watched the first and it made me sick. I didn't like the new spiderman or the actor who played him. The original films with Maguire... 1 and 2 were true to the term "amazing" these new abominations should be called just spiderman (as should the third Maguire film - we don't talk about Spiderman 3).
