Feng Ao rong and Feng Xu kun, brother and sister respectively, are Chinese twins from the Canton Province. From an early age their gymnastic skills were honed and encouraged by their family, however fed up with the harsh regime they fled first to Hong Kong and then via the sea routes to Europe. During the harsh journey Xu kun had to pretend to be a young man in order to ensure her passage, this is a subterfuge that she has maintained to the present day despite forming an emotional attachment with one of the other circus acts.
