Reminder - The Omen - 7th March 5:00pm- Lecture Theatre One

After the youthful exubberence of Sam Raimi, George Romero and Tobe Hooper - this week's Thursday Fright Night screening of The Omen is a return to high-budget Hollywood horror. The genre was blown open by William Friedkin's The Exorcist in 1973, with studio execs frantically searching for the next film to recapture its critical and financial success. The Omen - though part of a wider sympton of possession themed cinema - is a fantastic film in its own right. The ever reliable Richard Donner crafts a film with lavish production values, believable characters and wonderfully creepy moments. Hope to see you there.

The Omen
