Environment design by Mickaël Forrett

To produce Horizon, Mickaël used Photoshop for the matte painting, Maya for the models and Mudbox for the texturing with mental ray for the render. Both After Effects and Nuke were used for the compositing.
“I worked for two or three months on the concept, the matte painting and the animatic, and spend approximately two months on the 3D models, animation, textures, renders and compositing,” says Mickaël.
“With this project I really had the opportunity to prove to myself that I could handle the differents creation phases by myself for the entire project.
It’s a warm feeling to see to see the project done after more than five months of work, sodas and bagels.”
