  1. Thanks Paul - I saw the trailer for this tonight and I've got to admit I got a case of the goose bumps... it looks lovely, doesn't it?

  2. Looking forward to this.

It better be really upsetting. It's got a lot to live up to after all.

  3. agreed - what I loved about the original was the way it admitted to what is fleeting about moments of childhood magic; the inevitability of change and saying goodbye. The Snowman is pretty much perfect because somehow it's not far-fetched at all - it's about a moment most of us can recognise. I had a dream once as a nipper - so vivid I can still remember it now as if it was a real memory of something lived. It was a dream about an everlasting box of fireworks (I was mad about fireworks back in the day). This box of fireworks was so great, full of amazing squibs, and nothing like the actual rubbish you used to get on bonfire night from the newsagent. It contained fabulous catherine wheels and huge rockets, with every firework wrapped in vivid paper. Anyway, the box never ran out - in the dream at least - and when I woke up, I went searching for the box of fireworks - really searching for it - because it had felt so real, and because the dream had been perfect, and also, I suppose because a part of me knew that I wouldn't find it, couldn't find it. I was gutted. I grieved for that box of fireworks, so I know how that little boy felt when he found his snowman gone. Sigh.

    1. Really looking forward to it.... I used to have similar dreams Phil. I remember one dream where I thought my parents bought me the Tim Burton Batmobile. I was so upset when I woke up and realized I didn't have it.

I always have reoccurring dreams of me flying which probably stemmed from the Snowman. I think watching it will be a mixed bag of emotions for me... but can not wait!!!!
