  1. This has been really exciting - seeing these paintings spring up all over the blogs during the course of the day - and look, Jackie Hagan's in the mix - not content with creating her own zoetrope strip, Jackie's getting prepped as a concept artist - bring it on!

I love Alice's image - a fantastia on a theme, but there are some darker more, primordial Christmas tree jungles in the mix; Jake's jungle looks rather menacing. Lucy - such lovely colours, but my fave is your first painting - loving all the rim light and sense of mystery :)

Meg's created a proper winter wonderland and there's something about Nadia's final scene that makes me feel as if 'we three kings of Orient are' are about to ride through on their camels!

Great stuff everyone - honestly, I think this is fab. The next theme for your CGAA Speed Paint challenge is already scheduled to go live on here at 9am tomorrow morning - so watch this space :)

  5. I Love all these, this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, that's either because it's christmas theme or the qualities in the paintings are looking lush, spontaneous and superbly energetic. Jake, that's a cracker...

  8. What a great display of work!

I love the vibrancy of both Sammy's and Lucy's pieces, and the atmosphere within Vikki's is lovely. I also love how the works of Alice, Meg, and Joey seem as if they belong on Christmas cards with their painterly styles.

Excited to see tomorrow's theme and resulting works, Bring on day 2!

    1. Hey Sam - look, you're in the mix, and I love your image; honestly feels like a Christmas card from the late 50s, early 60s - there's something a bit Mary Blair about it - especially that rather lost looking Santa!

    1. agreed - Stevie P's forest looks like a pov shot from a rather inebriated reindeer - "why are all these Xmas trees spinning? Hic!" :)
