@Alan: Vimeo is playing up, and only on my OS (out of the three household computers only mine is affected and I cannot view any of the videos on the CG tut’s blog). I don’t understand. When I want to watch a Maya tutorial the video doesn’t respond and only flickers. After 10 seconds of no activity, the video disappears to black and I all get is a "Oops! Something broke try again later...". Only recently after I finished one of the tutorials, all was well. EDIT: This actually affects all Vimeo videos. I can’t watch any of them.
Any suggestions? Is it a browser issue (I’ve already tried IE, Firefox and Chrome and that is not working), cookies, new flash update that I’ve missed? I’m using a Windows XP professional 64 bit OS + adobe flash player no longer supports it, they have released a new update. New OS for me? Have they brought the service down for maintenance? Though this wouldn’t make any sense as the videos are playing on the other two computers..., But then the other two computers run the same OS... Strange.
Whatever the reason, can I possibly snatch all relevant tutorial files from your USB next week? I have no idea what’s going on. It’ll be great to get on with those.

ReplyDeleteProbably wont do anything but have you tried deleting your history, cookies, internet cache and so on. Also run a virus scan and run CCleaner. Might help, sounds like a tricky problem, googling hasn't bought up anything immediate...
Have you installed adobe shockwave and updated graphics drivers? Make sure you have all the available Net Frameworks from your windows update. Sometimes missing one of these causes graphics and video problems.

ReplyDeleteThe graphics card update buggers my entire system up. I'm using a Nvidia Geforce GTX 260. The thing is crap.
I'll just buy a whole new system. This old relic is starting to cheese me off. A lot.
