  2. I've been looking forward to seeing this trailer for some time. I saw the poster at Siggraph several years ago and it sparked my interest. Particularly coming from the Laika studios who (at the time) had recently recently released the Corpse Bride and the trailer for Coraline.

What makes Laika an exciting animation prospect is their choice to set up shop in Portland, Oregon. Deliberately seperating themselves from the Hollywood set. You can see that choice in the brave way they approached the Corpse Bride and Coraline. They aren't pandering to focus groups and all about money. Their films are darker, richer, and don't treat the audience like children.

Now having viewed the trailer for 'Para Norman' for the first time, it looks like Laika have managed to build upon their strong foundations and again find interesting ways to push style and content boundaries further.

    Exciting!

  3. Oh wow! This looks so great! I always enjoyed the underlying darkness in Coraline and Corpse Bride so to have another film from the same vein, visually and narratively, is really exciting.

I can't wait for this! Thanks for sharing Phil! :D
