CGAA One-A-Day: Rain Town

Graduation film by Hiroyasu Inshida made at Kyoto Seika University.

The opening titles say:
"In this town, since who knows when, rain has never stopped.
Residents moved out to suburbs and high ground around
"rain town."
People's memories are now deeply submerged.
But into this forgotten rainy town
sometimes, someone wanders."
Watch the whole thing! The ending is so touching :)

  1. Great! Reading the synopsis is like reading the blurb of a Haruki Murakami novel. I can see his influence in many ways. The magic realist landscape and nostalgic memories are his trademarks.

I like how the character is more often than not, a small spec on the screen. A good example of an environment telling a story.

  2. It's like the little girl (whose wearing a yellow rain coat) is the only source of happiness in the town and that's what made the robot (made out of rusty metal) come to life. Very very symbolic :)
