FAO CGAA Year 1: Unit 6 Commission - Good Luck!

Hey, you lot! :D

I just wanted to wish you all the very best of luck for the big finale of your first year on CG Arts & Animation. You've all worked very hard to get here - and I'm not just talking these past 5 weeks, I'm talking about these past 30! It's been intense, sustained and you've been pushed to accomplish great things, confront insecurities and take creative risks.

Some of you will be feeling wobbly, stressed out, sleep-deprived and frustrated - no doubt because your final films may not quite match the epic, untouchable visions you've carried in your head since the original briefing. The art of compromise - and the art of accepting what you cannot change - is an art indeed, and I advise all of you to focus on what this project has taught you - about Maya, about planning, about pressure - and about yourselves. This is a 3 year process remember, and tomorrow is merely the end of the beginning. Very soon now there will be nothing more you can do to tweak, massage and polish your animations. Your work will be 'out there'. With that in mind, I want you to enjoy tomorrow - it is, after all, your last day of being 'year one'. Accentuate the positive. Don't waffle, blether or talk down your efforts. Let your audience experience your film without prejudice.

So - fingers-crossed, and I very much look forward to seeing the fruits of your labours tomorrow!

And finally - BACK UP YOUR WORK!
