Can I actually use maya for free as a student on my personal computer?

I was looking where and how I should download it in this page:

http://students.autodesk.com/?filter_city=Rochester&filter_country=2&filter_state=Kent&nd=participating_schools&base=1

And it seems that UCA is not on the list. So can we legally use maya at home without paying?

  1. Yes you should be able to download a 3 year student license for your time on our course, i have it through autodesk, i simply signed up through the process and it will ask for your UCA email, one that uni gives us at start, you also put in our uni etc, and it found all info itself, dont worry that our uni isnt on their list, it does work fine and you can get most up to date maya and other programs from autodesk.

  4. oh, when i try to install it, it says:

External Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

And when click to see more it says:

This error report includes information regarding the condition of external installer when the problem occurred; the operating system and computer hardware in use; your digital ID, which could be used to identify your license; and internet protocol (IP) address of your computer.

Maybe this problem could be because of I'm not in England at the moment? I tried with several different maya versions (2011 and 2012) and it was the same. ;/
