Liverpool based Illustrator Pierre-Etienne Travers is the perfect inspiration for epic environments and stunning vistas. His work demonstrates the power of core skills in perspective, composition, colour & light theory driving quick and often rough paint work. It's clear that knowledge and skill drives and is more important than actual neatness, rendering or getting a 'finished' look. While he is of course capable of these thing, it's in his rougher, more lively drawings that he captures the essence of the world that he is portraying.
I thought he'd be a great artist to inspire us first years to really get stuck into concept art again!
