The Post With The Most 10/04/2011

With just five weeks of term time remaining before semester's end, today's PWTM celebrates imagination + hard graft in a round-up of student work from across the CGAA community.

We begin with a selection of completed sequences from Tom Beg's forthcoming adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray; taking reference from David Lean, Aubrey Beardsley, and F.W. Murnau, Tom's embrace of theatricality combines restraint with decadence, minimalism with ornament.

The CGAA 2nd year completed their Transcription Unit on Thursday 7th April. For most, it was a game-changing submission - personal goals reached and missions accomplished - and expectations raised for year 3. A selection of work is included here, but be sure to follow the links to their respective 'Art Of's' - as the best of them give an exhaustive insight into the realities of the true task of world-building and story-telling.

Jordan Buckner - The Ticket Taker - Art Of

Sam Hayes - The Suitor - Art Of

Leo Tsang - Tribe 17 - Art Of

Ethan Clements - The City in the Sea (Excerpt) - Art Of

Meanwhile, in CGAA Year One, it's been a case of back-to-basics and lightbox eyestrain, as the first years earned their stripes as newbie animators by putting inanimate objects through their paces... This was Animation Meg's favourite - Molly B's NImble Decanter...

Until next time - Be amazing!
