Dead Island Trailer

I wasn't sure if this counts as part of the 'One-a-Day' as it's only a video game trailer but it definitely is worth a watch!

I just found this really refreshing, I thought it was an exciting direction for video game trailers.

  1. Sorry it's so big, I tried making it smaller but it didn't want to budge :S

  2. Pointless, but nice from a cinematic P.O.V.

In reality it just looks like a game where you kill zombies? Is that still interesting?

  3. The game itself isn't particularly interesting as it's probably just another left 4 dead, but I thought the trailer was really nicely done.

  4. Yes - liked this - surprisingly moving - especially those last 'family video' shots. A good example of the structure innovating an otherwise 'done-to-death' subject. The soundtrack is doing most of the work though - great counterpoint; I assume the game though will have an entirely different mood - more 'Jerry Bruckheimer'?

  5. Yeah, the music is definitely the most effective part. Most probably, it's the same 4 person co-op kill lots of zombies theme, so wait and see what they show next I guess. Here's hoping that trailer will actually be relevant to it though!

  6. What is interesting is how the trailer deals with what can be considered a taboo subject, twice in fact. That being the death of a child. To do so was, I believe, a brave choice by the director, The reverse sequencing was the most effective way to tell the story especially with the family movie endings and the reveal that the young girl was the daughter.

However I think that the rest of you guys have summed up the game itself.
