Problems with the Rig/Geometry

What was done wrong in riging  for this to happen with  geometry. What’s the problem and how to fix it? Or is this  the case of redoing right leg’s rig over?

  1. Hard to tell, when did this happen specifically?
When you hit skin? Or is it when you applied the pole vectors? If it's the Pole vectors then make sure 'maintain offset' is ticked on.

  2. Hi Jolanta.

This problem is caused by the Pole Vector. Basically there's a 'minus' value hanging around making your IK flip 180 degrees.

Did you contrain the Pole Vector to the PV control and then move it forward? Or...before constraining did you remember to freeze the tranformations on the PV offset group?

  3. I froze transformations.. I think its the first case. I constrained Pole vector to the PV control.
when I go to right leg's IK and tipe in 0 in in pole vector's coordinate system the leg gos back to normal, but as you said, as soon as I try to move it it flips 180 deg.
So how to get rid of the minus value?

  4. Unconstrain the control by finding the IK in the Outliner and deleting the PV constraint. Select the Offset group for the PV Control and freeze the transformations (Make sure there are no negative values). Then reconstrain the PV Control to the IK.

  5. If you still get a problem remake the controls etc - Also make sure you've unparented the PV Offset group out of the joint structure.

  6. yeah - what Alan just said... :D

  7. Hmm.. I'd like to think I'm following the instructions correctly.. but I didn't solve the problem. Perhaps best ways I'll come and talk to you tuesday..
