CGAA One-A-Day: With My Umbrella

CGAA Misc: Adam Tomaszewski's Damselflies

Something to make you boggle afresh at the beauty of the natural world - and to yet again underline the basic truth that when it comes to imagining the other-worldy excesses beloved of sci-fi and high-fantasy, one need only look to planet Earth for inspiration.  Marvel at these images of dew-bejewelled damselflies by photographer, Adam Tomaszewski - and then take a look at his Deviant Art page for more microcosmic wonders.

CGAA Recommended Reading: Pose Drawing SparkBook: Put More Life In Your Drawings

From Cedric Hohnstadt , illustrator: "The Pose Drawing Sparkbook is a “super-charged” sketchbook designed to help you practice putting more life into your drawings and make them more entertaining. The 240-page sketchbook includes: • 32 pages of instructional articles (think of them as acting lessons for your drawings) • 100 short situations for you to sketch, carefully crafted for their acting potential (think of them as acting exercises) • Hundreds of bonus drawing ideas in the back of the book. It’s not a “how to draw” book. It’s more of a “how to think” book. It’s designed to help you learn to think about acting and posing as you draw your characters. CGAA One-A-Day: Metamorphosis

Good Books is an online-bookseller that passes all its profits onto Oxfam.   BUCK was asked to produce and direct this campaign, which splices Hunter S. Thompson -inspired visuals with imagery from Kafka's The Metamorphosis - the result is this swirling, rather nightmarish confection; it's great! Good Books - Metamorphosis from Buck on Vimeo .
