Edmund Dulac was a French illustrator (of the 'Golden Age of illustration') celebrated for his images for the fairy stories of Hans Christian Andersen, The Arabian Nights and The Tempest. I'm showcasing his work simply because I love his stuff; the delicacy, the whimsy, the complexity and the incredible, opalescent use of colour. They feel properly magical, with a softness and almost pearl-like sheen. You'll find more of Dulac's illustrations here.
