FAO CAA YEAR 2: TIMETABLE CHANGE / INTERIM CRITIQUE

FAO Year 2 To take into account those people who have just come back from Rome Wednesday's (8th) Interim Critique has been rescheduled for Friday17th March @ 10am . The venue will be confirmed closer to the date. Use the extra time to your benefit. The Interim Critique. For your Interim Critique please prepare a presentation of the your work for Adaptation Part B so far. The best way to think about your presentation is to treat it as a 'professional pitch to financial backers' who know nothing about your project. Remember this project is called 'Adaptation: Professional Practice' and professionalism should be present in all aspects of your work (including your presentation / graphic design). If you have any specific questions about your project and what to present please see me (or Phil) for help and advice.

'In Person Pitch' Wednesday 8th March This is a presentation pitch (to the whole group) illustrating your project idea, your progress (work) so far, and what you intend to achieve over the remaining weeks of the project. This will also be a presentation where you will be given feedback and advice from Phil and I. *Please note that this date may change. If so a notification will appear on the group blog. 'Tuesday / Friday Tutorials' Week 9 (Starting the 6th March) - No Tutorials due to the Pitch. After week 9: The tutorials become 'Drop in' tutorials. 'Drop In Tutorials' mean come if you need project advice or practical help.

FAO CAA Year 2: Sculpting Purchases

Preparing for Sculpting: Puchases As part of the sculpting class you will need to buy materials and tools (see image above). I've tried my best to make this a cost effective as possible with course sharing some of the cost...however your purchases are: 1) Super Sculpey 'Firm' Clay: Stores (Theatre Department) 2) Pliers & Wirecutters: Poundland or Similar (You will only need these briefly so I suggest borrowing or sharing if possible). 3) Tin Foil - Supermarket   4) Sculpting Tools & A Paintbrush (medium): Art Shop or UCA Shop (Reception) 5) Dividers: A old drawing compass set will do 6) A Piece of Soft Sponge: I'd recommend sharing a larger sponge from Poundland. 7) Brass Tubing (small diameter) or an Old Paintbrush with a metal collar (small): DIY shop or poundland (or similar) All of the other materials you will need will be provided by us so please do all you can to be ready for the sculpting class after Easter.

FAO Year 2: Character Design Critique & Presentation

Character Design Critique & Presentation To dispel any confusion...  Outcomes: The outcome for the character design project was intentionally left open ended to allow everyone to personally develop their work - Each project is (to a greater or lesser degree) very different and therefore will have differing specific outcomes. This is also a deliberate step away from more 'list based' outcomes you may have experienced on a year one brief towards a more year three approach. I realise that this may appear somewhat open ended on the surface but hopefully during classes and tutorials with Justin you all identified a specific goal for your project and understand the depth of a character bible.  Presentation: The presentation goal is to put together a coherent public facing sales 'pitch' (in the form of a Kickstarter page or document) which illustrates the potential of your game, the characters, and the environments. In order to achieve this succ...
