Computer Animation Arts

I have been trying to add this script to maya but everytime I do it tells me it can't find the placement, so I looked inside the script and it said (where string $path = Place your directory here) I did that but it still says it can't find it. What can I do >.<

I seem to still have the same rendering problems. Even though I reloaded and reconected all the textures, speculars and bumps. reconected lights to Bird's geometry ( even if links were never broken ) but it still comes out as the  image above. What could be the possible problems here to loook at and solve?

Characters Alan gave (the robot, dummy male and female) had two buttons which allowed easy selection and keying when animating. It would be much appreciated and very helpfull to get a tutorial of how to script and make those buttons  for our own characters.
