While browsing the BBC website for some news, I was faced with this article that surprised. For all the metropolis fan, they have found a copy of the film that they claim to be " closest to what the director wanted".
The article is : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/8949756.stm
and i let it inform you the rest, also most of you may have seen as it was broadcast last Thursday.
I just hope that they will release it sometime

Thats excellent news. The story of the movies fragmented release and a 'directors cut' is part of cinema legend. Its great to hear that at least some of that story found an ending. Thanks Ruben
ReplyDeleteWhew what a find, the journey Metropolis has taken is quite fascinating really. I think a new viewing of the complete film is in order sometime in the lecture theatre :P Thanks for posting Ruben :)
ReplyDeleteI second that! :-)
ReplyDeleteYea definitely need to watch it again in the lecture theatres if we can get a copy. Also, I vote for a viewing of "M" on the big screen? Those two films are incredible to this day.
