FAO CAA Yr 2, 3 & Graduates: Mentors For New 1st Years Required!

Their Spiderman needs your Ironman! Okay, so it won't be long until the new term arrives, and with it, a new bunch of first years we need to get into good shape in the quickest time.  I always ask for mentors - students who can help me cut through some of those FAQs and sloppier habits, and all those little blogging things you remember doing, but now make you cringe to think about!  In the first instance, I'll be looking for about 10 mentors to take on about 3 new students each and your job will be to get in there and make them feel at home, but also to get in front of anything you think may not be helping them getting the most from their experience.  Very soon, the new blogs will start coming through, and I'll start sharing them on the group blog, and I'll be seeking to pair mentors and mentorees as soon as that happens so you can get in there from the outset and weed out any issues even before term begins. CAA Careers: Canterbury Anifest - submissions now being accepted!

Canterbury Anifest is back for Spring 2019!   They are now looking for submissions of animations up to 10 minutes in length, that have been completed in 2017 or 2018.  Closing date 21st January. Awards will be given for the following categories: ​ Best British Film Best International Film Best Student Film Best Animation of Character Best Sound Best Art Design Audience Award There is also the opportunity to design a character to feature throughout the festival - closing date for this part of the competition is 31st October 2018. CAA @ New Designers 2018 - Private View 4th July

CAA @ New Designers 2018! What a lovely evening it was! (& many thanks to Rob Roach for the photos!) It was so wonderful to see so many of the old faces back together one - a real meeting of generations at VC66 this year.  Next year is our 10 year anniversary at New Designers - and the plan is to turn the private view into an epic alumni reunion - our biggest yet! - so save the date: Wednesday 3rd July, 2019.  If you're a graduate of Computer Animation Arts , you have somewhere you need to be!
