Movies @ 2pm Tuesdays Lecture Theatre 1

This is both information for CGAA year one - and an open invite to years 2 & 3: as part of the ongoing Cutting Edges film programme, I'll be showing the following films on Tuesdays at 2pm in Lecture Theatre 1.  All are welcome!

Memento (2000) - Christopher Nolan

Nolan's Memento continues our look at alternate structuring for the effective telling of stories.

The Wicker Man (1974) - Robin Hardy

The Usual Suspects (1995) - Bryan Singer

The Sixth Sense (1999) - M. N. Shyamalan*

The Wicker Man, The Usual Suspects and The Sixth Sense are all examples of 'final act twist' in terms of their structure, so please, for your own enjoyment, DON'T read up on these movies prior to the screenings!

The Poseidon Adventure (1972) - Ronald Neame

Gravity (2013) - Alfonso Cuaron

With Gravity, the 'character versus environment' narrative gets an award-winning, CGI-centric update, but The Poseidon Adventure is the the grande-dame of the disaster genre and 'ticking clock'.

*Correction: The Sixth Sense will be shown 'post-pitch' on Tuesday 18th in Lecture Theatre 1 - time to be confirmed.
