  1. LOVE Frizzia's take on this challenge - completely original, and Jojo's cruel-looking Jack Frost appears to be enjoying his job a little too much. Nat's image has a cruel streak too - snowmen who are free to leave when they like, taunted by the exit, but melted if they so much as try! Alice - that's another Christmas card right there - love that ribbon of red scarf and the smattering of snow. Delightful! Great to see some new names in the mix today too - let's see even more when tomorrow's challenge goes live. Looking forward to it very much! This is honestly better than any advent calendar ever! :D

  2. They all look really cool! The mood is less cheerful than in yesterday's paintings but still great!
I especially like what Steven did...SO CREEPY.

And yeah...I'm late again :I Sorry!

    2. Ta da! As if by magic... Better late than never! I think it's fascinating how the word 'asylum' has been used in both ways in these images - i.e. - a place of refuge and calm (Alice) and as a gothic hospital/prison space (Jojo/Nat/Stevie P/Lloyd/Tom etc.) - ah, the joys of interpretation! Tomorrow's challenge will be a little less nuanced, perhaps? Let's wait and see... :)

    1. agreed - those silhouettes standing guard like that - as if it's some kind of maximum security fortress.

  4. Nat's piece almost tells a story, its so wicked! Tom's has a real sense of authority about it, which kind of makes you feel like an oppressed snowman, similar to how Lydia's like a naughty school-boy, while Lucy's suggests that her snowman hasn't found his asylum yet. The contrast of colour within Jackie's is also fabulous!
