BBC South East
Diamond Jubilee photo mosaic
BBC South East are creating a
huge piece of art for the Diamond Jubilee. The “People’s Monarch”
will be a massive photo mosaic portrait of the Queen created from 10,000
photographs of people from the South East. They hope it’ll be a "celebration
of Britain in the Jubilee
year"....with the public building a giant photo portrait of the monarch using
images of themselves.
The portrait will be the size of a
double decker bus and will go on display at the Towner
Gallery in
Eastbourne from
25th May until 10th June. It will then go on display
at a Kent venue (location yet to be
confirmed) So, everyone who submits their photos will get the chance to go
along and see themselves hanging on display in an art gallery.
Photos can be old or new, colour or
black and white - as long as they are photographs of people.
Please see the link to the project: Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17516843 for further details and
instructions on how to upload images.
They
need to get over 250 photos submitted
each day in order to reach our 10,000 photo target between now and May
11th.
You can send photos from your phones or
PC’s, just go to the websites: www.bbc.co.uk/kent or www.bbc.co.uk/sussex
and follow the instructions.
Cool :). However the link 'click here' doesn't work. Comes up with '404 - Page Not Found'. The other two links work fine though :)
