The Supplement: Rodney Alan Greenblat

If like me you spent a childhood like me getting a ‘U rappin COOL’ rating on every song on Parappa the Rapper or strumming along to the tunes of UmJammer Lammy, you should recognise the contemporary American artist, Rodney Alan Greenblat a mile away. Nowadays he produces a lot of funky abstract paintings and craft objects amongst other talents. His Thunder Bunny books have become very successful in Japan where thanks to the games he produced with Masaya Matsuura he’s a household name! You can view it online here: http://www.whimsyload.com/ThunderBunnyNow.html

Thanks to an oversaturation of derivative internet imitators his work may seem blasé but he is most definitely an original, and I think his work is a testament to how a doodle can turn into a great work of art or a loveable cast of characters. His website is absolutely packed with images!: http://www.whimsyload.com/
