Daryl Shute is a producer (among other things) at Magic Light Pictures. Founded in 2003 by producers Martin Pope (The Heart of Me, Lawless Heart) and Michael Rose (Chicken Run, Curse of the Wererabbit) the company produces and distributes high quality films, and builds and manages children’s brands. Recent productions include The Gruffalo, an animated half hour special produced with the award winning Studio Soi, nominated for an Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards; Chico & Rita, a collaboration with the Marsical Studio in Barcelona, is an animated love story for adults and Wild Target, a live action comedy staring Emily Blunt, Bill Nighy and Rupert Grint.
Obviously, you're all very busy finishing your Unit 5 animations and Transcription projects, but please use this opportunity to schedule a break. Daryl will be screening The Gruffalo, a 'making of' and discussing his role as producer. Don't miss it.
Ah yes, i cant wait for this one, both me and my 2yr old niece love the gruffalo, i think ive seen it about 50 odd times so seeing the making of should be brilliant.
