It's been a stressful few days for the UCA's new I.T staff. As far as I am aware the following is happening.
Server & Email:
It was first thought that the Maidstone Hub (Main server drives) was faulty. However, after closer inspection it has transpired that a virus has found its way in. The I.T staff are frantically trying their best to get it up and running again. This is unfortunate and hard to prevent. Hopefully the system will be up and running quickly.
Base room computers:
All broken machines are being replaced as we speak.
Maya 2011:
Maya 2011 is now on all computers ready to go but the main license is on the'infected' main hub. Again, hopefully this will be resolved quickly.
DM3:
New chairs have arrived for DM3 and all the computers are being replaced at the end of the year.
Oh God... I haven't seen the machines,but why are they getting replaced? Did they explode?
ReplyDeleteThere was a mass suicide of five pc's. In each case the motherboards failed. Unusual and hard to predict. However, we are getting much better machines in their place. A silver lining perhaps?
