Some of you may have been experiencing problems accessing files using Maya 2011. For example, navigating to My Documents or the Desktop when trying open files or set a project. This is caused by old preferences being carried over from Maya 2010 to 2011. To correct the problem...
1) Close Maya
2) Rename the Maya folder found under My Documents
3) Start Maya 2011. A new Maya folder will be created with default preferences.
4) Copy your 'Projects' from the old Maya folder (now renamed) into the new Maya / Projects folder.
