FAO CGAA Year 1: Unit 4/Storytelling - GarageBand for Animatics

There have been a number of enquiries from first years recently in regard to use of copyrighted music etc. in their animatics and pre-viz. Apple's very user-friendly GarageBand programme has a big selection of royalty-free sound effects, samples and jingles and also allows you to generate your own musical content easily. You'll find GarageBand on the Macs. I've created a quick 'how-to' pdf which you'll find on myUCA/storytelling/Unit Materials. I gave Alex a quick demonstration last night and, in a matter of seconds, we'd created something pretty good, pretty fast. GarageBand has a number of foley effects too - footsteps, comedy boings, cars, planes etc. - and while some of the jingles and loops are fist-chewingly cheesy, others are very effective. Choose wisely!
